Knightrush is a game for iPhone and iPad made by Ihsan Firdaus (“I”, “me”). This page explains what information the game uses, who receives it, and the choices you have.

The short version

  • The game has no accounts. I never ask for your name, email address, contacts, photos or location.
  • Your progress stays on your device and in your own iCloud. I cannot see it.
  • The game shows ads that you choose to watch. The ad companies collect some device information to show and measure those ads. You decide whether they may track you across other apps.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple. I never see your payment details.

Information the game stores

On your device: coins, best score, run history, unlocked items, boosts, achievements, settings and daily reward timers. This is saved in the app’s storage on your device.

In your iCloud: if you are signed in to iCloud, the same progress is backed up to your own iCloud account (Apple’s key-value storage), so it survives reinstalling the game and follows you to your other Apple devices. It is stored by Apple under your Apple Account. I have no access to it. You can turn it off in the Settings app under your Apple Account > iCloud.

I do not run any servers for the game, and the game sends none of this information to me.

Services inside the game

Apple Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the game sends your scores and achievements to Apple so they appear on the leaderboard and in your Game Center profile. Your Game Center nickname is shown on leaderboards. This is handled by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. You can sign out of Game Center in the Settings app; the game keeps working with on-device ranks only.

In-app purchases

Purchases (Premium and coin packs) are made through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the payment; I receive no card or billing details. The game uses Unity’s in-app purchase service to talk to the App Store, which may process technical information about the purchase (such as a transaction identifier) to complete and restore it. See Unity’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The game shows rewarded video ads, only when you choose to watch one (for example to revive or to double your coins). Ads are provided through Unity LevelPlay (ironSource) and Unity Ads, both operated by Unity. To deliver and measure ads, to limit how often you see the same ad and to prevent fraud, these services collect information from your device, such as:

  • device identifiers, including the advertising identifier (IDFA) if you allow tracking;
  • IP address, from which a general location (country or city) can be derived;
  • device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version);
  • how you interact with ads (which ad was shown, whether it was watched or tapped).

Unity describes this in its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. Inside an ad you can tap the privacy (information) icon to see and change Unity’s ad personalization choices.

Tracking permission. The first time the game starts ads, iOS asks whether you allow the game to track you across other companies’ apps and websites. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the ad services do not receive your advertising identifier and ads are not personalized using your activity in other apps. The game works the same either way. You can change your answer at any time in the Settings app under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

If you own Premium, the game does not start the ad services at all from the next launch on, and does not ask for tracking permission.

Children

The game is not directed to children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the game, contact me and I will help with having it removed by the relevant service.

How long information is kept

Progress on your device stays until you delete the game. The iCloud backup stays in your iCloud until you remove it (Settings > your Apple Account > iCloud > Manage Storage). Information collected by Apple and Unity is kept according to their own policies, linked above.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, or to object to its use. Because I hold no personal information about you myself, such requests about advertising data are handled by Unity (see the policy linked above, or email DPO@unity3d.com), and requests about Game Center or purchases by Apple. If you are not sure where to turn, write to me and I will point you to the right place.

Changes

If the game starts using information differently, I will update this page and change the date at the top.
